Cloud Computing Jobs Salary Suggests It Might Be the Next Gold Mine

Many people today have taken advantage of growth in cloud computing to develop their careers and increase the digits in their bank accounts. However, some people within the IT industry are seeing it as a threat and are afraid of what will happen next.

People working in the IT industry are very optimistic that cloud computing will change their lives forever. According to recent statistics released by the Forbes Magazine, cloud computing produces over 4 million jobs in the U.S., with 420,256 of them in the IT sector.

IT professionals with cloud computing experience earn an average salary of $90,950. Currently, there are over 18 million cloud computing jobs worldwide, with China producing over 40% of the jobs.

Many companies all over the world are looking for IT professionals with cloud computing experience and people who can assist them migrate to the cloud without disrupting normal business operations.

According to recruitment agencies, a qualified cloud computing professional receives nearly 100 job offers each day, and the salaries are very enticing. This is expected to continue growing as time goes by.

 

Choose cloud computing as a career

 

Generally, there are two cloud computing jobs: IT professionals possessing particular cloud computing skill sets and IT administrators with cloud architecture know-how.

Organizations looking for specific cloud development skills have already contacted specific cloud providers like Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services.

There are new DevOps automation tools and processes tied to these positions, and they are usually organized in newly formed enterprise groups.

Currently, trends in Docker and container technology require people with relevant knowledge and experience in developing applications with containers. Most cloud providers have adopted container technology but they are also seeking people with Docker knowledge skills.

Also, Docker Swarm systems and Google’s Kubernetes, background technologies in container-clustering are in demand too.

Majority people with specific cloud skills are already engaged in different cloud computing jobs. IT professionals with AWS skills are sought most, followed by those with Microsoft and Google expertise.

Salaries for these jobs which include operations, development and configurations positions range from $110,000 to $220,000 annually. This also depends on location.

Recently, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud platform’s growth margins have increased, surpassing AWS in some aspects. This has led to more job openings in the two platforms, a trend expected to continue as companies use a mix of public cloud providers.

However, other cloud services providers like IBM, HP, Centurylink and Verizon are still creating job demands related to their cloud platforms.

 

Cloud computing salary rates and certifications

 

This won’t come as a surprise that U.S. provides recruiters are constantly seeking most of the highest-paying cloud computing jobs and people with skills in Amazon Web Services.

AWS has been dominating the cloud computing industry for a while and AWS certifications introduced in mid-2013 are becoming more popular.

Over the next few years, cloud computing experts project that AWS certifications will be amongst the top 20 highest-paying IT certifications. AWS Certified Developer and AWS Certified Solutions Architect worldwide will earn an average salary $115,000 annually.

Companies offering cloud architect positions want IT professionals who can identify business requirements in the cloud to actual cloud deployment.

IT specialists who have specialized in cloud architecture should have strategic knowledge of cloud computing technology as well as the best cloud services providers. They are also required to have the ability to develop cloud platforms that fit company’s goals.

Salaries for people with cloud architecture range from $150,000 to $250,000 annually, depending on location and experience. IT consulting firms top the list of companies that pay most for these jobs.
